United Airlines will introduce three new international destinations from Houston Bush Airport this winter, expanding its presence at the Texas hub. Flights to Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Mexico, will commence later in October 2026. In December 2026, United launches service to Cartagena, Colombia, followed by the start of flights to Caracas, Venezuela, in January 2027.
Flight Delay from Houston to Caracas
United’s planned Houston-Caracas route was initially set for August 2026 but was postponed to January 2027 due to structural damage at Simón Bolívar International Airport caused by two major earthquakes. The carrier’s resumption of service marks its return to Venezuela after a multi-year absence.
Expansion at Houston Bush Airport
These new routes
coincide with the opening of United’s Terminal B North Concourse at Houston Bush Airport. The 765,000-square-foot concourse features 22 gates and includes a 54,000-square-foot United Club lounge, the largest airline lounge in the Americas, according to the Houston Airport System.
United is also planning to resume flights between Houston and Chihuahua, Mexico, next spring, but has not announced an official start date or details for the route yet.
