Ryanair and easyJet have announced new flight routes from several UK airports ahead of summer 2027, expanding options for UK travelers. EasyJet introduced 18 new routes from 10 UK airports serving destinations in Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Greece, Cyprus, Montenegro, and Bulgaria.
EasyJet will launch six new routes to Spain, including its first flights to Girona. The Liverpool to Girona service begins on 28 March 2027, operating twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays. London Gatwick will start flying to Girona on 3 June 2027 with three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The airline will also start new routes
from Scottish airports, including Aberdeen’s first-ever easyJet connection to Barcelona. Additional single-airline routes include Birmingham to Milan, Liverpool to Murcia, London Gatwick to Ajaccio, and Bristol to Montpellier.
Ryanair’s Route Expansion
Ryanair unveiled its first batch of summer 2027 routes that are now available for booking. The airline increased the frequency of flights to Leeds Bradford Airport by adding new return services from Budapest, Corfu, and Malaga. It also introduced new Eastern European connections, such as Birmingham to Wroclaw and East Midlands to Gdansk.
Impact on UK Air Travel Connectivity
The combined route growth by Ryanair and easyJet will provide UK passengers with more frequent flights and additional direct
connections from smaller UK airports to popular European destinations. These expansions improve access to established holiday locations and emerging markets, enhancing travel options for summer 2027 departures.
