Explora Journeys has also canceled Middle East cruises
for its winter 2026-2027 season amid ongoing regional conflict. Explora I will move from the Arabian Gulf to South America for its first season scheduled between November 2027 and February 2028. The debut ship Explora V, set to launch in December 2027, will cancel itineraries in Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Oman, the UAE, Qatar, and Bahrain from January to March 2028. Instead, Explora V will operate in the Western Mediterranean and North Africa. Explora Journeys is providing automatic full refunds plus 250 euros in future cruise credit per guest for affected sailings, for up to two guests.
MSC Cruises Cancels Middle East Voyages and Repositioning Trip
MSC Cruises has
canceled its 2027/2028 Middle East cruise season and a repositioning voyage originally scheduled for November 1, 2026, citing the geopolitical situation in the Red Sea region. The canceled 26-day repositioning trip included calls at Aqaba, Mahe, Diego Suarez, and Port Louis. MSC World Europa will instead offer seven-night itineraries in the Western Mediterranean departing from multiple ports, including Barcelona (Spain), Genoa (Italy), Civitavecchia (Italy), Messina (Italy), Valletta (Malta), and Marseille (France).
Other cruise operators, such as AIDA, TUI, Costa, Aroya, and Celestyal, have also canceled their Middle East winter seasons amid the same geopolitical instability.
