More than 50 representatives from Serbia and North Macedonia’s business and tourism sectors gathered in Skopje on 8 October 2026 for the Visit Serbia B2B Networking event, which focused on opportunities linked to EXPO 2027 Belgrade. The event, part of the Visit Serbia international roadshow, aimed to foster new partnerships and cooperation between the two countries ahead of the Expo.
North Macedonia’s Pavilion and Regional Participation
North Macedonia will participate in EXPO 2027 Belgrade with a national pavilion titled “All Rhythms of the Sun,” showcasing the country’s music, gastronomy, wine, tourism, culture, and creative industries. This participation enhances the regional character of the event by encouraging
economic, cultural, and tourism cooperation between Serbia and its neighboring country.
Volunteer Engagement and Official Statements
EXPO 2027 Belgrade has attracted over 16,000 volunteer applications, with 850 applicants coming from North Macedonia. Danilo Jerinić, CEO of EXPO 2027 Belgrade, expressed satisfaction with the volunteer uptake, stating, “I am particularly pleased by the strong interest in our volunteer programme. Our volunteers will be the welcoming face of the Expo – the people who will greet the world in Belgrade next year.” He also invited North Macedonia’s business and tourism communities to treat EXPO 2027 as a shared regional opportunity.
Business Forums, Digital Platforms, and Tourism Cooperation
The EXPO 2027 programme includes six thematic
business forums, a two-day Global Business and Technology Summit, more than 250 bilateral business events, and over 50,000 business meetings. It will also feature a dedicated digital B2B platform to facilitate partner identification and meeting arrangements ahead of the event. During the Visit Serbia B2B Networking event, participants discussed joint travel itineraries promoting combined visits to Serbia and North Macedonia.
Tourism between the two nations is already growing strongly; from January to July 2026, 82,047 tourists from North Macedonia visited Serbia, marking a 22% rise compared to the same period in 2025.
