Margaritaville At Sea will introduce its largest ship, Beachcomber, to the Gulf Coast market with sailings from Galveston starting in October 2027. The vessel, previously operated by Costa Cruises, will become the seventh cruise line at the Texas port.

Itineraries and Sailings from Galveston and PortMiami

Beachcomber will offer cruises ranging from four to seven nights departing Galveston. Destinations include Aruba, Curaçao, Grand Cayman, Montego Bay, Belize, Progreso, Roatán, Cozumel, Grand Bahama Island, Bimini, Key West, and Veracruz, Mexico — a new port for Galveston-based cruises. Prior to its relocation, the ship will operate four to eight night sailings from PortMiami to Eastern and Southern Caribbean ports.

Galveston’s Growing Cruise Industry

Galveston ranks as the fourth busiest cruise homeport in the United States, hosting four cruise terminals. Passenger embarkations and debarkations are expected to reach 3.9 million with 445 sailings scheduled for 2026. Since 2017, passenger movements have risen from 1.9 million and are projected to approach 6 million by 2030. Carnival, MSC Cruises, and Royal Caribbean currently operate from the port year-round, while Disney Cruise Line and Norwegian Cruise Line have seasonal operations. Beachcomber’s arrival will expand Galveston’s cruise line roster alongside existing lines including Regent Seven Seas.

Passenger Benefits and Official Statement

The Beachcomber will introduce more than 15 new onboard experiences while retaining

Margaritaville At Sea staples such as 5 o’Clock Somewhere, Hemisphere Dancer, Cheeseburger in Paradise, License to Chill, and a casino offer matching program. The inclusion of Beachcomber increases Gulf Coast cruise options and opens access to destinations not serviced by other Galveston sailings. Christopher Ivy, CEO of Margaritaville At Sea, said, “With Beachcomber, we’re giving guests an incredible ship and more choices for where their vacation can take them, including places they simply can’t reach on other cruises from Galveston.”
