Margaritaville At Sea will launch its newest and largest cruise ship, Beachcomber, from Galveston starting in October 2027. The ship will operate cruises lasting four to seven nights from this Texas homeport, the cruise line announced.
Expanded Itineraries Include New Galveston Ports
Beachcomber will offer itineraries calling at ports including Aruba, Key West, Curaçao, Grand Cayman, Montego Bay, Belize, Progreso, Roatán, Cozumel, Grand Bahama Island, and Bimini. Notably, Veracruz, Mexico, will be a new port for cruises departing Galveston. Prior to repositioning to Galveston in late 2027, Beachcomber will sail from PortMiami on four-to-eight-night Eastern and Southern Caribbean voyages.
Margaritaville At Sea Becomes Seventh Cruise Line Operating from Galveston
This addition will make Margaritaville At Sea
the seventh cruise line based at Galveston. The port currently hosts year-round operations by Carnival, MSC Cruises, and Royal Caribbean, with Disney Cruise Line and Norwegian Cruise Line providing seasonal sailings. Regent Seven Seas also operates from Galveston, contributing to the expanding cruise market there.
Galveston’s Cruise Growth Projects 3.9 Million Passengers in 2026
Galveston ranks as the fourth-largest cruise homeport in the United States and currently has four cruise terminals. Port officials project 3.9 million cruise passenger embarkations and debarkations along with 445 sailings in 2026, nearly doubling from 1.9 million passenger movements in 2017. The addition of Beachcomber supports the port’s ongoing growth trajectory toward almost 6
million passengers by 2030.
Christopher Ivy, CEO of Margaritaville At Sea, said, “With Beachcomber, we’re giving guests an incredible ship and more choices for where their vacation can take them, including places they simply can’t reach on other cruises from Galveston.” The ship will feature over 15 new onboard experiences along with Margaritaville staples for travelers.
