Margaritaville At Sea will deploy its newest and largest ship, Beachcomber, from Galveston, Texas, starting in October 2027. The former Costa Cruises vessel will mark Margaritaville’s expanded presence in the Gulf Coast market.
Beachcomber Itineraries Include New Port in Veracruz
The ship will offer cruises ranging from four to seven nights, with port calls including Aruba, Key West, Curaçao, Grand Cayman, Montego Bay, Belize, Progreso, Roatán, Cozumel, Grand Bahama Island, and Bimini. For the first time on the Galveston cruise market, Veracruz, Mexico, will feature as a scheduled port.
Prior Miami Operations and Cruise Lengths
Before repositioning to Galveston, Beachcomber will sail four to eight night itineraries from PortMiami covering the Eastern and
Southern Caribbean. This phased deployment allows the ship to serve two major homeports within the same year.
Onboard Experiences and Margaritaville Amenities
Beachcomber will introduce over 15 new experiences, alongside established Margaritaville at Sea offerings such as 5 o’Clock Somewhere, Hemisphere Dancer, Cheeseburger in Paradise, License to Chill, and a new casino offer matching program introduced earlier this year.
Galveston ranks as the fourth busiest cruise homeport in the United States, operating four cruise terminals. Officials project 3.9 million cruise embarkations and debarkations and 445 sailings in 2026, an increase from 1.9 million passenger movements recorded in 2017.
The port currently hosts year-round operations for
Carnival, MSC Cruises, and Royal Caribbean, with seasonal deployments from Disney Cruise Line and Norwegian Cruise Line. The addition of Margaritaville at Sea’s Beachcomber will bring the total number of cruise lines at Galveston to eight, including Regent Seven Seas.
Christopher Ivy, CEO of Margaritaville at Sea, stated, “With Beachcomber, we’re giving guests an incredible ship and more choices for where their vacation can take them, including places they simply can’t reach on other cruises from Galveston.” This launch further diversifies Galveston’s itinerary offerings and reflects the port’s growing appeal to cruise operators.
