Holland America Line began accepting bookings on August 27, 2026, for its 2028 Alaska cruise season. The lineup features cruises between seven and 18 days aboard Oosterdam, Noordam, Eurodam, Koningsdam, Westerdam, and Zaandam. Sailings will depart roundtrip from Seattle and Vancouver, between Vancouver and Whittier, as well as a new route linking San Diego to Vancouver.
Rare Voyages and New Scenic Routes
The 2028 schedule introduces distinctive journeys such as an uncommon 11-day voyage from California to Alaska called Shores, Fjords & Glaciers. Select Great Alaska Explorer and Great Bear Rainforest itineraries will include first-time scenic cruising through Nootka Sound, a rarely visited waterway on Vancouver
Island’s west coast known for its rugged coastline and forested shores.
Oosterdam’s Evolution Transformation and Alaska Cruisetours
The reimagined Oosterdam will serve as the inaugural vessel showcasing Holland America Evolution, the largest fleet investment in the cruise line’s 153-year history. Oosterdam will also be the primary ship for Alaska Cruisetours, combining cruise voyages with overland excursions into Denali and the Yukon. Details on 2028 Cruisetours availability and itineraries will be released at a later date.
New Onboard Features on Oosterdam
The Oosterdam’s upgrades include Solo Verandah staterooms designed for single travelers, new Bridgeview Suites with panoramic forward-facing views, and the Grand Dutch Café, inspired by the line’s Dutch heritage. Staterooms and
suites have been refreshed alongside other enhancements reflecting Holland America’s Pinnacle Class ships.

He stated, “What has always set Holland America Line apart in Alaska is our ability to combine the iconic experiences guests dream about with opportunities to see the destination in ways they haven’t before.” Grigsby also noted that Oosterdam offers new ways to connect with Alaska both onboard and ashore, including from the Bridgeview Suites and through integrated land tours of Denali and
the Yukon.
