On Wednesday, August 26, 2026, the Carnival Cruise Line ship Carnival Conquest rescued the sole occupant of a disabled sailing vessel. The rescue occurred at sea while the Conquest was en route to St. George’s, Grenada, after the ship received a distress relay from rescue authorities and diverted to the location of the disabled vessel.
Following the rescue, Carnival Conquest safely brought the mariner aboard and the individual remains under the care of the ship’s team. Carnival Cruise Line confirmed via email that the Conquest continued its voyage to St. George’s, Grenada without delay.
Other cruise lines have conducted similar
maritime assistance recently. In late July 2026, MSC Cruises’ MSC Musica aided a vessel in distress near Ibiza, and in May 2026, Silversea Cruises’ Silver Whisper rescued a man from a disabled sailing vessel roughly 500 miles off the Oregon coast.
Separately, earlier in the same week, the Carnival ship Carnival Pride struck a passenger walkway during docking at the Baltimore port, though details regarding that incident have not been disclosed.
