WestJet is actively repositioning aircraft and crews as it resumes scheduled flights. The airline issued an advisory stressing, “As we resume flying and repositioning our aircraft and crews, some
flights may continue to be disrupted. If you’re traveling in the coming days, only head to the airport if your flight is confirmed.”

Passenger Experiences Highlight Communication Challenges
Travelers interviewed by CityNews Calgary on Tuesday reported receiving last-minute notifications. One passenger was informed at 2 a.m. that her rescheduled flight would depart at 10 a.m., prompting a rushed trip to the airport. She expressed relief that the strike had ended but noted continued travel difficulties.
Her traveling companion commented
on poor airline communication, stating, “There wasn’t really any communication from the airline, we kind of just had to find it out through the news.” Their destination was Victoria.
Tentative Agreement Addresses Pay Gap with Air Canada Attendants
A critical issue during the strike negotiations was compensation for flight attendants’ work performed before departure and after landing. A tentative deal was reached that reportedly closes the pay gap between WestJet flight attendants and those at Air Canada, who had secured partial ground pay following their strike last summer.
WestJet described the tentative agreement as a significant development but warned that “the impact of recent labour disruptions on our scheduled
flights means that a full return to normal operations will take time.”
