On August 13, 2026, Oceania Cruises announced its focus on extended cruise itineraries as the premier method to explore the world. The company emphasized voyages ranging from seven days to 180-day Around the World journeys, offering guests an immersive travel experience through global destinations.

Global Destinations and Voyage Scope

Oceania Cruises operates a fleet visiting more than 600 destinations across over 100 countries and all seven continents. Its itineraries allow travelers to discover regions such as Asia’s ancient temples, historic cities throughout the Mediterranean, and South America’s dramatic coastlines. These trips span durations from a week to six months, providing a comprehensive portfolio designed around

slow, destination-focused travel.

The cruise line maintains an adults-only fleet known for combining luxury, comfort, and spacious accommodations. Key features include a high crew-to-guest ratio and one of the highest chef-to-guest ratios at sea, underpinning the brand’s reputation for culinary excellence under the trademark The Finest Cuisine at Sea®.

Introduction of Oceania Aurelia and Extended Cruise Focus

Supporting its commitment to longer voyages, Oceania Cruises plans to launch the Oceania Aurelia, branded as “The Ultimate Explorer,” in late 2027. This ship will host under 250 suites and staterooms, fostering an exclusive, private-club atmosphere onboard. The Aurelia is purpose-built for extended itineraries including the 2028 and 2029 Around the

World cruises, designed to deliver refined luxury and personalized service for prolonged exploration.

Oceania Cruises is also advancing its fleet with five Sonata Class ships slated for delivery between 2027 and 2037, reinforcing its long-term strategy focused on expansive global journeys.

Official Statements and Traveler Advantages

Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises, described longer voyages as enabling guests to experience destinations more deeply. He stated, “For today’s luxury traveler, discovering somewhere new is about more than moving from one place to another.” Montague highlighted the luxury of time afforded to guests, allowing them to linger and engage with the character of each destination

without feeling rushed.

The extended itineraries simplify travel by minimizing the need for repeated flights and hotel stays, providing effortless transitions across continents and oceans. The adults-only environment complements these voyages with leisurely days at sea and onboard enrichment programs, enhancing immersion and comfort.

Oceania Cruises’ Market Position and Fleet Expansion

Recognized as the world’s leading destination- and culinary-focused luxury cruise line, Oceania Cruises offers award-winning service and port-rich itineraries. Its ships emphasize spacious accommodations and personalized experiences, with destinations covering marquee and boutique ports worldwide.

Oceania Cruises is a wholly owned subsidiary of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd and has secured five Sonata Class vessels scheduled

for delivery in 2027, 2029, 2032, 2035, and 2037. These new ships will continue the company’s strategy of expanded, immersive global voyages tailored to luxury travelers.
