Malaysia recorded 17.5 million tourist arrivals in 2026, signaling a notable recovery for the country’s tourism sector. This milestone was reached despite ongoing challenges related to the pandemic situation affecting the Middle East region.
In addition to this achievement, Malaysia’s tourism board initiated a new ‘V MY’ license plate auction system. This initiative is part of the broader efforts under the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign, aimed at further invigorating tourism activity within the country.
