Lemon Tree Hotels announced on August 10, 2026, plans to extend its operations internationally to the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, and the Maldives. The Indian hotel group currently maintains properties in Nepal and Dubai, and aims to grow within regions popular among Indian travelers.
The company focuses on destinations reachable within roughly three hours’ flying time from India, targeting markets frequented by its core customer base. Lemon Tree reports that 45% of its demand derives from repeat guests, while its loyalty program enrolls approximately 2.5 million members. However, only about half of these repeat customers are currently part of that
program, indicating potential for enhanced engagement abroad.
Strategy to Follow Indian Travellers Overseas
Executive Chairman Patanjali Keswani emphasized the expansion strategy by urging the company to “go where your customers go.” He stated that Indian hotel companies can leverage their domestic guest base as a foundation for entering international markets. The company sees opportunity in deepening customer relationships globally by serving Indian travelers in destinations they visit regularly.
