Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has unveiled a one-of-a-kind 87-night Grand Voyage onboard the cruise ship Borealis, departing Southampton on 5th January 2028. The round-trip itinerary covers 28 ports across 17 countries and five continents, offering the only opportunity to experience both Amazon and Antarctica regions in one sailing from the UK.
Itinerary Highlights: Amazon River and Antarctic Peninsula
The voyage features immersive cruising along the Amazon River with calls at Manaus and Santarém, providing access to one of the world’s richest ecosystems and diverse wildlife including pink river dolphins and colourful birdlife. After cruising past Cape Horn, guests will enjoy three days of scenic cruising along the
Antarctic Peninsula, observing penguins, seabirds, vast glaciers, and snow-capped peaks.
Ports of Call and Overnight Stays
The cruise calls at Caribbean destinations such as Samaná Bay and Roseau in Dominica, offering whale-watching opportunities. Overnight stays are planned in iconic South American cities Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires to facilitate in-depth exploration. Other ports of call include Puerto Madryn, Punta Arenas, Montevideo, Salvador, as well as stops in Cape Verde and Europe including Santa Cruz Tenerife and La Coruña, before returning to Southampton.
