India and Japan are jointly developing the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor with indigenous bullet trains and an interoperable signalling system. The corridor will begin commercial operations in August 2027, with initial construction focused on the 97-km Surat-Vapi segment expected to complete by the end of 2026.

Italo confirmed a €3 billion order with Siemens for 26 Velaro high-speed trainsets to serve Germany from April 2028. The trains will support multiple electrification systems and offer up to 450 seats.
