The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria will roll out the V-Pass biometric facial recognition system at domestic airports starting July 2026. Developed with Verxid Technologies Limited, the system uses dual biometric verification to enhance security and streamline passenger processing.

The FAA delayed or cancelled over 4,500 flights at JFK, LaGuardia, Newark Liberty, and Philadelphia International Airports on July 16-17, 2026. Weather and air traffic control staffing shortages were cited as causes.

The FAA lifted ground stops Thursday afternoon at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field after thunderstorm-related delays. Average departure delays reached 90 minutes at DFW and 75 minutes at Love Field before flights resumed.
