The Rimrock Banff hotel in Banff, Alberta, completed a $115 million full property-wide renovation and officially joined Accor’s Emblems Collection on October 5, 2026. This marks the first property in North America and Canada to be part of Accor’s luxury five-star Emblems Collection brand, which is reserved for top-tier properties globally.
Accommodation Details and Suites
The resort now offers 320 redesigned guest rooms, including 57 suites. The largest accommodation is the infinity two-bedroom suite, boasting a wraparound terrace of more than 1,260 square feet along with a barrel sauna and an outdoor fire table.
New Wellness Facilities
A major addition is a 9,600-square-foot hydrothermal wellness Bathhouse, Banff’s
first luxury hydrothermal experience. It includes a vitality pool, hot pool, mountain-facing infinity pool, saunas, aromatic steam room, cold plunges, a suspended meditation room, and a sensory room. Complementing the Bathhouse is a 3,800-square-foot Movement Center featuring fitness equipment, climbing and bouldering walls, guided classes, and recovery offerings.
Dining Venues and Local Sourcing
The resort features four dining venues: Parker’s Table, Rimrock Social, The Listening Room, and Rimrock Market. Parker’s Table sources seasonal cuisine from local farmers, fishers, and foragers. Alberta-produced honey is incorporated into drinks and wellness tonics throughout the dining outlets.
Outdoor Experiences and Design Philosophy
Guests can access personalized outdoor adventures through an on-site Expeditions Centre, offering
more than 50 seasonal activities including guided hikes, alpine yoga, forest bathing, canyon ice walks, excursions to Athabasca Glacier, and Indigenous cultural experiences. The renovation was led by California-based Studio Collective, using natural materials, floor-to-ceiling windows, and contemporary artwork to integrate the resort with the surrounding Banff National Park.
Opening and Management Statement
The resort reopened on October 5, 2026, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. David Garcelon, Rimrock Banff’s general manager, said, “The resort, across the decades of its history, has always been defined by its remarkable setting. This transformation was guided by a simple philosophy: create a resort that feels inseparable from the landscape
itself.” The resort includes more than 18,000 square feet of meeting and event space across 11 venues for conferences and celebrations.
