The Federal Aviation Administration implemented a ground delay program at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport starting Sunday, October 4, 2026, and scheduled to continue through early Monday morning, October 5, 2026. The program affects flights departing from the contiguous United States bound for Austin.

The FAA’s Air Traffic Control System Command Center reported average flight delays of about 66 minutes, with maximum delays reaching 129 minutes. Arrival flights are operating on Runway 36L, while departures use Runway 36R during the delay period.

Low ceilings caused by low cloud cover and adverse weather conditions prompted the FAA to issue the ground delay program,

slowing air traffic movements at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
