MSC Cruises revealed its plans for the 2027-28 winter season, introducing new itineraries and redeployments affecting multiple regions globally.
Canary Islands Deployment and Ship Reassignments
The MSC Euribia will debut in the Canary Islands region for the 2027-28 winter season, replacing the MSC Fantasia’s earlier itinerary assignments. Euribia will operate seven-night cruises originating from four homeports in the Canary Islands, with stops including Portugal’s Madeira Island.
MSC Fantasia will transition to the Western Mediterranean itineraries previously held by Euribia.
Mediterranean and Northern Europe Ship Operations
Seven MSC Cruises ships will be deployed across the Mediterranean and Northern Europe in winter 2027-28. MSC Preziosa will offer itineraries in Northern Europe, while MSC World
Europa, MSC Seaview, MSC Fantasia, MSC Magnifica, MSC Orchestra, and MSC Lirica will sail Mediterranean routes. MSC Magnifica is programmed to operate in the Mediterranean in late 2027 before commencing a 115-night World Cruise in early 2028.
North American Sailing Activity
The winter 2027-28 season will mark the inaugural deployment of MSC World Atlantic from Port Canaveral, Florida. Six MSC vessels will operate from U.S. homeports during this period, including MSC World America, MSC Seashore, MSC Seaside, and MSC Poesia out of Miami, MSC Seascape from Galveston, Texas, and MSC Grandiosa in Central Florida alongside MSC World Atlantic.
South American and Southern Caribbean Realignments
MSC Meraviglia, built in 2017, will
debut in South America for the first time in 2027-28, sailing routes to Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay alongside MSC Virtuosa, MSC Divina, MSC Splendida, and MSC Musica. This redeployment follows the cancellation of MSC’s Middle East season for 2027-28.
The LNG-powered MSC World Asia, scheduled for delivery in November 2026, will introduce new Southern Caribbean itineraries, replacing MSC Meraviglia’s previously planned Martinique routes. MSC Opera will initiate year-round cruise service in the Southern Caribbean starting in late 2026.
South Africa and Far East Charted
In the South African market, MSC Sinfonia will resume cruises from Durban and Cape Town, substituting the originally planned MSC Armonia deployment
for 2027-28. MSC Bellissima will continue year-round operations in the Far East, sailing from Taiwan and Japan during the winter season.
MSC Armonia, the oldest and smallest ship in the fleet built in 2001, will not be deployed during the 2027-28 winter season and has a schedule gap between October 2027 and March 2028.
Cancelled Middle East Operations
MSC Cruises has cancelled all itineraries planned for the Middle East for the 2027-28 winter season. This includes planned sailings originating from the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
