Carnival Cruise Line will homeport its fifth Excel-class ship, Carnival Tropicale, in Galveston, Texas, starting in 2028. The ship will accommodate more than 6,000 guests and nearly 2,000 crew members. The Tropicale is scheduled for delivery and will begin sailing from Galveston on April 15, 2028.
Carnival Tropicale Itineraries and Destinations
Carnival Tropicale will offer cruises ranging from four to eight days. Ports of call will include Celebration Key, RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, Isla Tropicale, Puerta Maya, Progreso in Mexico, and Nassau in the Bahamas. The cruise line promotes these stops as part of Carnival’s exclusive Paradise Collection along with popular Caribbean ports.
Onboard Amenities and Dining
The Carnival
Tropicale will feature numerous amenities, including an all-ages waterpark equipped with six water slides, a treehouse adventure trail obstacle course, and family raft rides. Dining options onboard will comprise Uku Lei Lei, offering Hawaiian- and Asian-inspired cuisine; Fetaccine with Italian- and Greek-influenced dishes; and Emeril’s Coastal Seafood restaurant, alongside a range of other culinary venues.
Carnival Jubilee Short Cruise Offerings from Galveston
Starting in 2028-29, Carnival Jubilee will introduce a program of short cruises from Galveston for the first time. Cruise options will include four-, five-, six-, and eight-day sailings.
Four-day Western Caribbean cruises aboard Carnival Jubilee will depart select Thursdays between April 27, 2028, and April
26, 2029, visiting Cozumel. Five-day Western Caribbean cruises will depart select Saturdays and Mondays from April 17, 2028, to April 30, 2029, stopping at Cozumel and Progreso, Yucatan.
The six-day Western Caribbean cruise will depart October 29, 2028, with ports including Cozumel and Isla Tropicale, Roatán. An eight-day Bahamas cruise will depart April 1, 2028, visiting Celebration Key, RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, and Nassau. Additionally, an eight-day Western Caribbean cruise departs April 9, 2028, with stops at Cozumel, Isla Tropicale, and Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Booking Availability and Expanded Options
Passengers can begin booking cruises on Carnival Tropicale from Galveston commencing April 15, 2028. The introduction
of short cruise options aboard Carnival Jubilee starting April 17, 2028, offers increased flexibility for travelers departing from Galveston. These new itineraries provide access to multiple Caribbean and Bahamas destinations, including ports exclusive to Carnival’s Paradise Collection.
