Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport now provides nonstop service to more than a dozen major U.S. cities, including New York City (LaGuardia Airport), Chicago (O’Hare International), Houston (Hobby Airport), Denver (Denver International Airport), and Washington D.C. (Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport).

Airport CEO Highlights Benefits of Nonstop Flights and Growth Plans

April Cameron, President and CEO of Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport, emphasized that nonstop flights offer passengers faster and more convenient travel to key destinations. She stated, “The importance of nonstop flights is that they provide passengers with faster, more convenient access to their destinations.” Cameron also clarified that upcoming growth initiatives don’t imply immediate new flight announcements but prepare the airport to

expand without causing facility congestion, highlighting, “Our planned growth … doesn’t mean we necessarily have new flights to announce, but it positions us to be ready for an expansion without making our current facilities congested.”

Facility Upgrades to Support Future Expansion

The airport plans to add two additional gates along with a new parking deck to accommodate anticipated growth in nonstop services. These improvements are designed to maintain efficient operations and passenger comfort as the airport expands its direct flight offerings.

Destinations Showcase Unique Features and Attractions

Passengers flying nonstop from Chattanooga to LaGuardia Airport can experience the recently renovated terminal featuring a 450-foot-long skybridge that rises 65 feet above the tarmac,

offering panoramic views of planes and New York City’s skyline. Travelers to Chicago O’Hare International Airport can visit a large replica of a Brachiosaurus dinosaur on loan from the Field Museum.

At Houston Hobby Airport, The Rustic restaurant offers Texas hot chicken and a cheese sandwich on Texas toast. Denver International Airport provides amenities such as outdoor fire pits, yoga and Pilates classes, and seasonal ice skating. Visitors to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport have access to Curiosity Runway, an aviation-themed play area for children.

Nonstop Flights Reduce Reliance on Larger Connecting Hubs

By increasing direct flight options, Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport passengers can avoid traveling through larger hubs

like Atlanta and Charlotte. This expansion minimizes layovers and improves travel efficiency for those flying to culturally significant and attractive cities across the U.S.

Future infrastructure enhancements aim to sustain these increased nonstop routes while preventing congestion and maintaining a smooth passenger experience.
