India’s first bullet train service is scheduled to begin operations in 2027 after experiencing several years of construction delays, according to EasternEye. The Modi-led high-speed rail project has faced multiple setbacks since its inception but now has a confirmed launch year.

Mumbai-Ahmedabad Corridor and Route Details

The bullet train will run on a 508-kilometer high-speed rail corridor connecting Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Construction activity is currently underway at key sites, including Boisar, along the route.

Travelers will benefit from the new high-speed rail service starting in 2027, which promises faster journey times between Mumbai and Ahmedabad compared to existing rail options.
