The fourth edition of World Travel Expo (WTE) Miami 2026 officially opened on October 27, 2026, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The opening ceremony included Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner, Miami International Airport Director and CEO Ralph Cutié, and PortMiami Director and CEO Jonathan Daniels. Created to meet the growing demand for a dedicated travel trade show in Miami, WTE offers a neutral platform for industry networking, business development, and content over two days.

On day one alone, nearly 2,000 qualified and vetted unique attendees engaged with over 400 exhibitors, exceeding the total

attendance of the entire previous year’s event. The event ran on October 27 and 28, 2026, featuring extensive exhibition activity and conference sessions focused on travel trends, destination development, and consumer behavior.

Conference Topics and Industry Insights

Conference sessions covered key topics such as American travelers’ preferences, adventure travel, cruising, culinary and wellness travel, and multi-destination itineraries. Rose Mary Cortes from MMGY Global presented insights from the Portrait of American Travelers study, emphasizing the increasing use of artificial intelligence by travelers for trip inspiration and planning. Cyndi Williams, Founder and CEO of Wanderlust Campus®, highlighted the importance of entrepreneurial skills, business systems, and professional certification

for developing profitable travel advisors.

Event Leadership Emphasizes Growth and Industry Engagement

Simon Press, Managing Director of WTE Miami, stated, “WTE has proven the need for an event in this format, delivering a neutral platform. The objective was to increase the content and value for the industry this year, and WTE has achieved this through the number of exhibitors and conference sessions.” He also added, “It’s been encouraging to see travel advisors having those conversations, discovering new experiences they can promote to their clients and learning what’s trending through the conference sessions.” Rose Mary Cortes noted, “What’s really interesting is how travelers are discovering destinations in new

ways, with AI becoming part of how they find inspiration and plan their trips. At the same time, they’re looking to get more out of every vacation, whether that means exploring multiple destinations, discovering new experiences, or fitting more activities into one trip. For destinations, there’s a real opportunity to showcase the variety of experiences they offer and inspire travelers to make the most of their time away.” Cyndi Williams added, “The travel industry’s greatest opportunity isn’t just attracting more travel advisors. It’s developing more profitable ones. Product knowledge alone doesn’t build a successful travel business. Business systems, entrepreneurial skills,

and professional certification are what moves the needle. Host agencies that prioritize these investments alongside their advisors will be the ones that win in the next era of travel.”

Networking and Business Development Opportunities

The first day of WTE Miami concluded with an evening cocktail reception to facilitate networking among travel professionals. The event continued on October 28 with additional exhibition activities, conference sessions, and business development opportunities, aiming to support the growth of travel professionals and destinations through education and engagement.
