The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) implemented ground stop orders today, June 24, 2026, at multiple major airports across the United States and Canada. This directive has led to widespread disruptions in airline operations at some of North America’s busiest hubs.

Airports affected by the FAA ground stops include those in Atlanta, New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, Boston Logan International Airport, Newark Airport, Orlando Airport, and Toronto Pearson International Airport. Several large carriers, such as Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, JetBlue, Air Canada, and American Airlines, have experienced operational slowdowns as a result.

These actions have caused considerable travel

disruption, with an estimated 169 flights cancelled and roughly 680 flights delayed across the impacted airports. The ground stop orders are responsible for these widespread interruptions in flight schedules today.

As the situation continues to unfold, airport and airline personnel are working through the challenges posed by the FAA’s ground stop orders, affecting thousands of passengers traveling through key North American airports early on June 24, 2026.
