The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Executive Council has recently given formal approval to eight strategic priorities designed to stimulate growth and foster transformation within the international travel and tourism industry.
These priorities emphasize sustainability, resilience, and investment, encouraging closer collaboration between public and private sectors. The goal of this framework is to support a sustainable development approach as the sector continues its recovery and future growth trajectory.
Focus on Sustainable Transformation and Collaboration
The strategic priorities set forth by the WTTC aim to unlock growth opportunities while driving reforms that reinforce the global travel and tourism sector’s ability to adapt and thrive. The approved
agenda highlights the importance of strengthening partnerships across government agencies and private industry stakeholders to enhance the travel ecosystem.
While detailed actions for each priority have not been disclosed, the overarching intent is to solidify the foundation of the sector’s future through deliberate focus on environmental sustainability, economic resilience, and targeted investment.
These strategic directions were announced on 4 June 2026 and reflect a coordinated step towards shaping an inclusive and forward-looking travel industry.
