ZIPAIR has initiated nonstop charter flights connecting Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT), creating a rare direct air link between Florida and the Asia-Pacific region. These flights offer a simplified travel option for passengers visiting Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan.
Scheduled Charter Flights Between Orlando and Tokyo Narita
Four round-trip charter flights are scheduled for February and March 2027, operating nonstop between Orlando and Tokyo Narita. Flight duration is estimated at approximately 14 hours. Departures from Narita are planned for morning hours, arriving in Orlando the same morning local time. Return flights will leave Orlando in the
morning and arrive at Narita the following afternoon. Standalone tickets for these flights are expected to become available on ZIPAIR’s website in late November 2026.
Charter Service Details and Travel Packages
The ZIPAIR flights run as charter services rather than daily scheduled operations due to government approval requirements. Historically, travel between Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disney Resort involved at least one connecting flight. Japanese travel agencies H.I.S., JTB, and Jalpak are offering vacation packages that include these charter flights alongside Disney park tickets, hotel accommodations, and transportation between airports and destinations.
Official Response and Future Service Prospects
Lance Lyttle, CEO of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, stated that demand for ZIPAIR’s
flights exceeded expectations. He emphasized that the initial services sent a “clear message that travelers want this connection.” Both ZIPAIR and the airport authority have expressed hopes that the charter route could eventually transition to regular scheduled flights, though no permanent daily service has been confirmed yet.
Traveler Convenience and Booking Considerations
The nonstop flights provide travelers with a faster route between two major Disney destinations—reducing flight time compared to connecting itineraries that typically take at least 18 hours. However, the charter nature of the service means travelers must plan carefully around limited departure dates. Booking nonrefundable park tickets or hotel stays before confirming flight
availability is discouraged. This connection creates a new option for leisure travelers combining trips to Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disney Resort.
