The fourth edition of World Travel Expo (WTE) Miami 2026 commenced on October 27 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach, Florida. The two-day event welcomed tourism leaders and travel professionals to engage in business development and networking. The opening ceremony featured Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner, Miami International Airport Director and CEO Ralph Cutié, and PortMiami Director and CEO Jonathan Daniels.

Record Attendance and Exhibitor Participation

Attendance on the opening day surpassed last year’s total, with nearly 2,000 qualified and vetted attendees participating. More than 400 exhibitors were present, representing a significant increase in engagement compared

to previous editions. The high turnout demonstrated strong demand for industry connection and exposure to emerging travel destinations and products.

Event Objectives and Industry Value

Simon Press, Managing Director of WTE Miami, confirmed the event’s role as a neutral platform for the travel industry. He stated, “WTE has proven the need for an event in this format, delivering a neutral platform. The objective was to increase the content and value for the industry this year, and WTE has achieved this through the number of exhibitors and conference sessions.” Press added that travel advisors were actively exchanging ideas on new experiences and current trends due to

the conference sessions.

Conference Topics and Key Presentations

The first day’s program included sessions addressing American traveler preferences, destination development, and the impact of artificial intelligence on travel planning. Rose Mary Cortes of MMGY presented findings from the Portrait of American Travelers study, drawing a full audience. Cortes highlighted, “What’s really interesting is how travelers are discovering destinations in new ways, with AI becoming part of how they find inspiration and plan their trips. At the same time, they’re looking to get more out of every vacation, whether that means exploring multiple destinations, discovering new experiences, or fitting more activities into one trip.”

Broader Travel Trends and Advisor Development

Additional sessions

explored the influence of tourism on destination growth, opportunities around major events, and emerging travel categories such as adventure travel, cruising, culinary, and wellness travel. Industry experts discussed how travel advisors can stay ahead of trends to provide relevant client recommendations. Cyndi Williams, Founder and CEO of Wanderlust Campus®, emphasized the importance of developing profitable advisors beyond product knowledge, stating, “Business systems, entrepreneurial skills, and professional certification are what moves the needle.”

Networking and Second-Day Plans

The first day concluded with an evening cocktail reception that offered further opportunities for professionals to connect and build relationships. WTE Miami will continue on October 28, 2026,

with a second day of exhibitions, conference sessions, and business development activities at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
