Turkish low-cost airline SunExpress will commence direct flights connecting Almaty, Kazakhstan, with Izmir, Turkey, starting July 31, 2026. This marks SunExpress’s entry into Kazakhstan’s air transport market with a new international route linking the two cities.
The direct flights between Almaty and Izmir will operate on a regular basis beginning in late July 2026. Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport announced the launch, confirming the established schedule will maintain consistent service.
Kazakhstan Expands Route Network
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport stated the airline’s new service adds to the country’s expanding route network. The ministry highlighted expectations that the Almaty-Izmir flights will strengthen trade, economic, business, tourism, and
cultural connections between Kazakhstan and Turkey.
Direct Flight Option Enhances Connectivity
The new direct service provides travelers between Almaty and Izmir with a non-stop flight option, eliminating the need for connecting flights and facilitating easier access for both leisure and business travelers.
