Royal Caribbean has announced that the Alaska cruise ship Ovation of the Seas will shift its debarkation port from Seward to Whittier. This change is set to affect the company’s Alaska cruise operations starting with the 2026 season.

The move comes as a result of ongoing construction delays at the Seward cruise terminal, which have impacted the terminal’s readiness to accommodate cruise ship debarkations. With these delays continuing, Royal Caribbean has opted to reroute the disembarkation process to Whittier.

This adjustment will apply specifically to the 2026 Alaska cruise season. Passengers planning to end their cruises in Alaska aboard Ovation

of the Seas are advised to prepare for disembarkation at Whittier instead of Seward and make corresponding arrangements for their travel logistics.
