Royal Caribbean has canceled several U.S. sailings scheduled for 2027 involving the Navigator of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas as part of its strategic shift to expand operations in the Asia-Pacific region. The Freedom of the Seas also had more than 20 summer 2027 cruises canceled and will be redeployed to Southampton, UK in 2027.
Asia-Pacific Redeployment for Navigator and Ovation
The Navigator of the Seas will be redeployed to the Asia-Pacific market, operating year-round sailings from October 2026 through October 2027. It will offer 2- to 5-night cruises around Southeast Asia including Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand, along with a 12-night immersive voyage from
Tokyo to Singapore. The Ovation of the Seas will sail from Brisbane, Australia in the 2027-2028 season, featuring 4-night getaways to Airlie Beach in the Whitsunday Islands and 3- to 8-night adventures starting November 2027. Bookings for these sailings opened on August 18, 2026.
U.S. Sailings and Traveler Impact
The canceled U.S. sailings departed from Los Angeles with stops in Mexico. Guests with bookings on these canceled voyages have been contacted directly and offered alternative sailing options. Passengers will need to adjust travel plans or choose different sailings as a result.
