Disney Cruise Line announced the new ship class “Disney Believe” with its first vessel scheduled to debut in late 2027. The ship will showcase themed entertainment and venue concepts inspired by Disney Animation titles such as Encanto, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Moana, and The Little Mermaid.
Grand Hall and Exterior Artwork Details
The Disney Believe’s Grand Hall is themed around Disney’s Moana films, featuring a bronze statue of Moana alongside her companions Pua and Heihei, serving as the central visual focus. The hall design incorporates artisanal Polynesian finishes reflecting the South Pacific setting of the story. The ship’s stern will display large sculptures
of Woody and Buzz Lightyear from the Toy Story franchise, depicted etching the ship’s name in playful yellow crayon lettering. The bow will present hand-painted filigree artwork of Tinker Bell as first seen in the 1953 Peter Pan film, accompanied by silhouettes of Peter, Wendy, Captain Hook, and other characters flying amid swirling patterns.
Creative Leadership and Announcement
Claire Weiss, Portfolio Executive Creative Director, revealed the ship’s design and storytelling elements during the D23 Horizons Disney Experiences Showcase on August 16, 2026. Weiss emphasized that the Disney Believe celebrates belief in magic, family, nature, and self. She stated, “This ship celebrates belief in magic,
family, the power of nature, and belief in yourself,” adding, “And all the stories we tell onboard will be tied together by the core Disney notion of believing in something fantastical.” The ship is being constructed at Meyer Werft Shipyard with creative input from Disney Cruise Line, Walt Disney Imagineering, and Disney Live Entertainment teams.
Disney Cruise Line Fleet Expansion
The Disney Believe continues Disney Cruise Line’s tradition of integrating Disney storytelling into ship design and onboard experiences. Like prior ships such as the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny, the Disney Believe features distinctive Grand Hall theming and unique character artwork on its
hull. Each new Disney ship maintains individual character sculptures and exterior designs that highlight key Disney franchises, enhancing the visual identity of the cruise line’s growing fleet.
