Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. is set to launch Norwegian Aura, its largest and newest Prima Plus Class ship, in 2026. The vessel will debut with the industry’s most expansive Thermal Suite featuring 15 different wellness experiences, including 11 that are newly introduced, as well as innovative dining venues like Tamara, the company’s first specialty Indian restaurant, and The Panorama Room, an immersive complimentary dining space.
Mandara Spa and Thermal Suite Offer Extensive Wellness Options
The Mandara Spa aboard Norwegian Aura spans two decks and was designed by the Rockwell Group to evoke natural environments such as forest canopies and waterfalls. Central to the spa is the Thermal Suite,
which operates on contrast therapy principles, offering 15 wellness amenities to enhance relaxation, recovery, and rejuvenation. Signature experiences include a Sensory Rain Pool that simulates tropical rain and thunderstorms, a Blue Glow Suite with calming lighting, Foot Spa, Waterfall Experience, Snow Cave with cold therapy benefits, Reflection Pool overlooking the sea, and hot and cold plunge pools. Additional facilities include a Salt Room, Meditation Lounge, Aromatic Steam Room, Finnish and Charcoal saunas, and Zen Lounge.
The spa contains 24 treatment rooms, a full-service salon, a Skin Lab, and expanded medi-spa services such as IV therapy, NAD+ injections to support energy,
and acupuncture. Complementing these wellness facilities is a state-of-the-art fitness center with dedicated training studios and wellness programming.
New Specialty Dining: Tamara and The Panorama Room
Norwegian Aura introduces Tamara on Deck 8, the cruise line’s first specialty Indian restaurant. The venue draws inspiration from North Indian temples and courtyards with warm earth tones and intricate design, featuring an open kitchen with tandoor ovens. Its menu highlights authentic regional dishes including Short-Rib Dosa, Lamb Biryani, and Green Papaya Salad. Tamara expands on the popularity of Indian cuisine first offered in the Indulge Food Hall on previous Prima Class vessels.
The Panorama Room on Deck 6 is a fully
reimagined complimentary dining area utilizing immersive visual technology. It features expansive LED displays, multi-channel audio, synchronized lighting, and evolving visuals that transport diners through various landscapes and artworks throughout the day and night.
Expanded Culinary Options and Redesigned Venues
Norwegian Aura offers 22 food and beverage outlets spanning over 10 distinct cuisines. Hudson’s main dining room was redesigned with an elevated aesthetic and sweeping 270-degree ocean views. Other dining venues include Le Bistro and Sukhothai on Deck 7, Palomar and Onda by Scarpetta on Deck 8, and updated Cagney’s Steakhouse, Hasuki hibachi, and Nama sushi restaurants.
The Surfside Café has been expanded to cover both sides
of the ship, while Indulge Food Hall returns with nine globally inspired stations, adding a new Middle Eastern station alongside complimentary Mexican dishes inspired by Los Lobos. The Local Bar & Grill also returns, serving classic pub fare complimentary nearly all day.
The Haven, Norwegian Aura’s keycard-access luxury complex, features a newly designed bar, lounge, and restaurant created by Studio DADO to reflect a tranquil natural oasis with earth tones and natural finishes.
Refreshed Public Spaces, Bars, and Entertainment
Public spaces throughout Norwegian Aura have been updated for better openness, comfort, and connectivity. Bars and lounges including Penrose Bar & Atrium, Metropolitan Bar, Swirl Wine Bar,
Belvedere Bar, Whiskey Bar, and Daybreak Bar on Deck 18 have expanded seating and refreshed interiors. Penrose Bar & Atrium notably more than doubled its seating capacity and now includes a stage for daily entertainment. These enhancements support easier movement and more inviting gathering places.
Family Activities and Voyage Schedule
Ocean Heights serves as the ship’s family activity hub featuring six slides, an 82-foot Aura Ropes Course, the Moon Climber obstacle course, Aura Midway with carnival-style games, and a nine-hole mini golf course. Norwegian Cruise Line will also offer its first overhanging cabanas overlooking Vibe Beach Club with a dedicated bar.
Norwegian Aura’s maiden voyage
is a seven-day Mediterranean cruise departing Trieste, Italy on May 21, 2027, ending in Barcelona, Spain. Following the Mediterranean itinerary, the ship will embark on a 13-day transatlantic cruise to Miami, Florida. In the summers of 2027 and 2028, Norwegian Aura will operate seven-day Eastern Caribbean voyages with calls at destinations such as Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
