Lemon Tree Hotels announced on August 10, 2026, its plan to broaden its international footprint by entering markets in the UAE, Thailand, and the Maldives. Currently, the company operates properties in Nepal and Dubai, establishing its presence outside India.
Expansion Driven by Indian Traveler Demand
The upcoming expansion targets popular destinations among Indian travelers, focusing on regions within roughly three hours of flight from India. Approximately 45% of Lemon Tree Hotels’ demand originates from repeat guests, indicating strong customer loyalty. The chain’s loyalty program includes about 2.5 million members; however, only half of the repeat guests are enrolled, signaling potential for growth in customer engagement overseas.
Strategy and Geographic Focus
Executive Chairman Patanjali Keswani articulated the company’s approach during a first-quarter earnings call, emphasizing a strategy to follow Indian customers abroad. He noted the expansion aims to align with existing travel patterns by concentrating on nearby international destinations favored by Indian travelers.
