Holland America Line has opened bookings for its 2028 Alaska cruise season, continuing its legacy of over 75 years exploring this destination. The season features cruises lasting between seven and 18 days aboard six ships: Oosterdam, Noordam, Eurodam, Koningsdam, Westerdam, and Zaandam. Voyages will depart roundtrip from Seattle and Vancouver, sail between Vancouver and Whittier, and include a new route from San Diego to Vancouver. Holland America Line has been exploring the world with expertly crafted itineraries for over 150 years, operating a fleet of 11 vessels visiting nearly 400 ports in 114 countries.
New and Rare Alaska Voyages Expand Exploration Opportunities
The 2028 Alaska season introduces rare
itineraries and new ways to experience the region. One notable addition is an 11-day California to Alaska voyage named Shores, Fjords & Glaciers. Select Great Alaska Explorer and Great Bear Rainforest cruises will include first-time scenic cruising through Nootka Sound, a remote waterway on Vancouver Island’s west coast rarely visited on ocean itineraries. These routes offer guests views of rugged coastlines, forested shores, and varied wildlife in a less-traveled area of the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. Sailings operate roundtrip from Seattle and Vancouver, between Vancouver and Whittier, and the new San Diego to Vancouver segment provides a unique repositioning
cruise pairing with Alaska exploration.
Oosterdam’s Transformation Debuts Holland America Evolution
Oosterdam, the first ship to debut Holland America Evolution, represents the cruise line’s largest fleet investment in its 153-year history. The transformation includes refreshed staterooms and suites with enhancements inspired by Holland America’s Pinnacle Class ships. New onboard guest spaces include Solo Verandah staterooms, expansive Bridgeview Suites overlooking Alaska’s scenery, and the Grand Dutch Café, reflecting the line’s Dutch heritage. Oosterdam will serve as the primary vessel for Alaska Cruisetours, facilitating the pairing of cruises with overland explorations into Denali National Park and the Yukon, expanding opportunities for immersive Alaska experiences.
