Germany has officially ended the requirement for Indian nationals to obtain an airport transit visa. This change allows Indian travelers to pass through German airports without the need for a transit visa.
The policy revision comes into effect in early June 2026. From that point forward, Indian passengers transiting via Germany will benefit from a streamlined process when connecting through German airports.
What This Means for Indian Travelers
Indian nationals planning to transit through Germany will no longer have to apply for an airport transit visa. This reduces one layer of travel documentation and may facilitate smoother international connections at German airports.
Travelers should continue to
check current travel requirements before their journey to ensure compliance with any other relevant entry regulations.
