Geggs Getaways hosted its first travel show at Blackpool Stanley Park Golf Club on September 24, 2026, attracting over 200 customers and generating £11,000 in bookings during the event.
Exhibitors and Popular Holidays
Thirteen suppliers exhibited at the event, including major cruise lines MSC Cruises, Marella Cruises, P&O Cruises, and Crystal Cruises alongside tour operators such as Newmarket Holidays, Africa & Beyond, First Class Holidays, Ocean Florida, Holiday Best, Gold Medal, Attraction World, Red Sea Holidays, and Domes Resorts. Geggs Getaways also highlighted its partner relationships with Transun, Wendy Wu Tours, easyJet Holidays, and Railbookers. Cruise and Florida holiday packages were especially popular among
attendees.
Event Support and Fundraising
The travel show was organized by Geggs Getaways, a Blackpool-based agency affiliated with Homeworking by Inspire’s Independent Travel Associates division. Support from Homeworking by Inspire included assistance in securing exhibitors, obtaining raffle prizes, and marketing. Team members from the Inspire Group head office—Sam Fisher, Stacey Wilson, and Alice Victoria Whalley—attended the event. A raffle raised £500 for Dementia UK, with prizes such as a three-night stay at Palazzo Versace Dubai donated by Galaxi.
Statements from Organizers
Agency owner Ryan Anthoney described the turnout as overwhelming, stating, “Welcoming more than 200 people through the doors and taking bookings on the night showed just
how much appetite there is for face-to-face travel advice in our community.” He also thanked the supporting suppliers and noted the added impact of raising funds for Dementia UK during the event. Lisa Henning, chief executive of Inspire Group, said the show demonstrated how independent homeworking agents can boost business locally and build their profiles with Inspire’s support.
Community Engagement and Business Growth
The event generated further business prospects with £50,000 in enquiries still under follow-up by Geggs Getaways. The travel show provided attendees an opportunity to obtain in-person travel advice and book holiday packages on site, fostering local engagement with homeworking travel agents. The
charitable element and supplier collaboration were key to the show’s success.
