The TGV-M, France’s latest high-speed train model, has obtained market authorization from the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA). This regulatory approval is a key step towards introducing the train into passenger service, confirming its conformity with European rail standards.
SNCF is set to operate the new TGV-M trains, which are designed to accommodate a larger number of passengers compared to earlier versions. This enhancement in seating capacity aims to meet growing demand on France’s high-speed rail network.
Alongside increased capacity, the TGV-M incorporates features aimed at improving environmental performance. The ERA’s authorization underscores the train’s compliance with EU regulations,
supporting France’s ongoing development of a more sustainable and efficient high-speed rail system.
