Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts revealed plans on October 12, 2026, to develop a new luxury resort in Tangier, Morocco. The Four Seasons Resort Tangier will be located in the Cap Malabata district overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean coastline. The project is a joint development with Royal Resort Cap Malabata, which is supported by Bahrain-based GFH Financial Group. This new property will be Four Seasons’ fourth location in Morocco, complementing existing resorts in Casablanca, Marrakech, and Rabat.
Resort Features and Design
The upcoming resort will feature 99 guest rooms and suites, along with 27 standalone villas. It will occupy over 260
meters of waterfront, providing extensive coastal access. The design is led by Arjitec, while the interiors are crafted by British design studio Goddard Littlefair. Facilities at the resort will include four dining venues, a spa, a fitness center, swimming areas, waterfront leisure zones, and dedicated meeting and event spaces, catering to luxury travelers and business gatherings alike.
Accessibility and Location
Four Seasons Resort Tangier is situated about 15 minutes from Tangier’s high-speed train station, which connects to major cities like Rabat and Casablanca. Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport is approximately 45 minutes away by car, providing international travel access. The strategic location in Cap
Malabata offers spectacular views of the Strait of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean coastline, positioning the resort within reach of key transport hubs and cultural sites.
Official Statements on the Project
Ricardo Suarez, Four Seasons’ group head of development, stated, “We look forward to bringing this exceptional project to life and creating a Resort that reflects the character of Tangier.” His remarks underline Four Seasons’ commitment to developing a resort that highlights Tangier’s unique cultural and geographic qualities as part of its expanding Moroccan portfolio.
Tangier’s Growing Tourism Appeal
Tangier’s location near the Strait of Gibraltar offers strategic coastal access that has attracted growing tourism and real estate investment. The
city benefits from enhanced connectivity through high-speed rail links to Rabat and Casablanca, facilitating easier access for domestic and international visitors. The addition of the Four Seasons Resort Tangier aims to strengthen the city’s position as a premium travel destination by expanding high-end accommodation and hospitality options in Morocco’s northern region.
