Trespasser Incident at Waitematā Station Delays Services
Later on October 19, 2026, a trespasser on the tracks at Waitematā station caused further delays and cancellations across the train network. Auckland Transport issued a statement about the trespasser-related delays via its AT Mobile app, which was removed shortly after 3pm once the issue was resolved. Auckland Councillor Richard Hills reassured passengers, stating, “The AT app says
a trespasser, I assume on the tracks caused the issue but it’s been resolved and trains returning to normal.” Train services were returning to normal operations following these incidents.
