EXPO 2027 will take place in Belgrade, Serbia, offering new business and tourism opportunities for Serbia and North Macedonia amid growing trade and travel links between the two nations.

On 8 October 2026, the Visit Serbia B2B Networking event was held in Skopje, bringing together over 50 representatives from business and tourism sectors in both countries. The event, part of the Visit Serbia international roadshow, enabled participants to discuss partnerships connected to the upcoming expo.

North Macedonia will participate in EXPO 2027 Belgrade through its national pavilion titled “All Rhythms of the Sun.” The pavilion will highlight music, gastronomy, wine,

tourism, culture, and creative industries to an international audience, underscoring the event’s regional cooperation theme.

Volunteer engagement for EXPO 2027 Belgrade is strong, with more than 16,000 applications received, including 850 from North Macedonia. These volunteers are expected to be the welcoming presence at the event, according to Danilo Jerinić, CEO of EXPO 2027 Belgrade.

The expo’s business programme is structured around six thematic forums, a two-day Global Business and Technology Summit, over 250 bilateral events, and upward of 50,000 planned business meetings. A dedicated digital B2B platform will allow companies to identify partners and schedule meetings before the expo.

Tourism cooperation between Serbia and North Macedonia is advancing through joint travel itineraries, aiming to combine visits to both countries in single international trips. Between January and July 2026, 82,047 tourists from North Macedonia visited Serbia, representing a 22% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

Danilo Jerinić stated, “I am particularly pleased by the strong interest in our volunteer programme. Our volunteers will be the welcoming face of the Expo – the people who will greet the world in Belgrade next year.” He added, “That is why we are here today: to invite North Macedonia’s business and tourism

communities to make Expo 2027 Belgrade a shared opportunity for our region.”
