Durham Police have arrested 46 people as part of a large-scale operation targeting criminal tourism in the Greater Toronto Area. The investigation focused on individuals entering Canada with the intent to carry out high-profit criminal activities within the region.

Authorities have filed more than 1,000 charges linked to offences committed in the GTA. The term “criminal tourism” was used by police to describe the pattern of suspects traveling into the area specifically to engage in illegal acts.

This coordinated effort highlights ongoing concerns about cross-border crime affecting the Greater Toronto Area. Increased law enforcement activity aiming to dismantle these networks

may contribute to improved safety for both residents and visitors to the region.
