Disney Cruise Line announced the new ship ‘Disney Believe,’ set to debut as the fourth vessel in the Wish class in late 2027, with steel cutting having commenced on August 8, 2025, at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The approximately 4,000-passenger ship continues Disney’s expansion of its fleet.
Disney Believe features a bow artwork centered on Tinker Bell with silhouettes of Peter Pan, Wendy, John, Michael, Captain Hook, and Smee. The ship’s Grand Hall is thematically designed around Moana, including a bronze statue of Moana with Pua and Heihei, and wave-inspired décor reflecting Polynesian influences. Toy Story characters
Woody and Buzz Lightyear appear in a unique stern sculpture completing the ship’s name with oversized yellow crayons. The ship’s name on the stern uses large, angled block lettering inspired by Toy Story instead of Disney Cruise Line’s traditional script font.
In addition to Disney Believe, Disney Cruise Line revealed that starting in 2029, it will introduce three ships forming an entirely new class distinct from the Wish class, positioned between the company’s smaller classic ships and current larger vessels. This mid-size ship class is intended to enable visits to new destinations and broaden the cruise line’s audience. The three
ships were announced at D23 in 2024 as part of Disney’s strategy to expand to a 13-ship fleet.
Claire Weiss, Portfolio Executive Creative Director of Walt Disney Imagineering, described Disney Believe as celebrating “belief in magic, family, the power of nature, and belief in yourself,” with all onboard stories centered around believing in the fantastical. She highlighted that the new class ships will be “right in the middle of our classic ships and our newer ones,” providing opportunities to reach new places and audiences.
