The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) has recently advocated for the development of a more comprehensive framework aimed at measuring the true value of tourism across the Caribbean. This call reflects concerns that existing methods do not adequately reflect the full economic importance of the tourism sector in the region.
The association emphasizes that a refined and expanded measurement approach is essential to better account for tourism’s overall economic impact. In view of tourism’s central role in many Caribbean economies, CHTA highlights the need for tools that can more precisely capture its contributions.
