The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) has advocated for a new and broader framework to assess the economic value of tourism more comprehensively in the Caribbean region. This initiative aims to enhance the understanding of tourism’s contribution beyond current measurement methods.

The proposed framework is intended to capture the full extent of the economic impact generated by the Caribbean tourism sector across the various islands. By doing so, CHTA hopes to reflect the true value tourism delivers to the region’s economy.
