Carnival Cruise Line held the steel-cutting ceremony for its newest vessel, Carnival Destiny, on July 10, 2026, at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. This ship is the first in Carnival’s next-generation ACE class, scheduled for delivery in summer 2029.
Design Features Emphasize Ocean Views and Balcony Cabins
Carnival Destiny will feature more ocean-facing balcony cabins than any previous Carnival ship. Its design integrates over 4.5 acres of glass, including large multi-story glass walls and a reimagined lanai deck, all intended to maximize views of the ocean from multiple vantage points throughout the ship.
New Onboard Venues and Entertainment Concepts
More than 70% of the ship’s venues and attractions will be entirely new concepts
for Carnival Cruise Line. These include reimagined dining experiences, next-generation bars and lounges, immersive entertainment options, and vibrant outdoor spaces designed to enhance guest engagement on board.
Sailing to Exclusive Destinations in Carnival’s Paradise Collection
Upon debuting in summer 2029, Carnival Destiny will cruise to ports within Carnival’s Paradise Collection. This portfolio, the largest in the cruise industry, covers exclusive destinations across the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Mexico.
Legacy and Expansion of Carnival’s Fleet
The new Carnival Destiny builds on the legacy of the original ship bearing the same name, which was the world’s largest cruise ship at its launch. Carnival has maintained a partnership with the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy for more than
30 years. Carnival Destiny is the first of three ACE class vessels, with two additional ships planned for delivery in 2031 and 2033.
Official Statements and Traveler Experience Enhancements
Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, said Carnival Destiny “builds on a legacy that changed cruising once before, reimagining what guests can experience at sea.” She added, “With this ship, we’re elevating the guest experience again creating a ship that feels more expansive, while helping guests feel more connected and ultimately have more fun.” Guests can expect a ship offering increased ocean views, expanded venues, and new onboard concepts designed to improve their cruise experience.
