California has authorized a $3.5 billion contract dedicated to the construction and implementation of the nation’s inaugural true high-speed rail track and accompanying systems. This approval represents a substantial investment in the state’s rail infrastructure development efforts.
Simultaneously, the California High-Speed Rail Authority announced the appointment of a new board chair, who previously served as an adviser to Governor Gavin Newsom. This leadership change is expected to provide renewed direction for the ongoing rail project.
