Rimrock Banff, Emblems Collection officially reopened on October 5, 2026, following a $115 million comprehensive renovation. The luxury resort in Banff, Canada, marks Accor’s first five-star Emblems collection property in North America.
Guest Accommodations and Wellness Facilities Upgraded
The renovation revamped 320 guest rooms, including 57 suites designed to highlight mountain views. The property’s largest accommodation, the infinity two-bedroom suite, features a terrace exceeding 1,260 square feet with a barrel sauna and fire table. A new hydrothermal wellness facility of 9,600 square feet was introduced, representing Banff’s first luxury hydrothermal experience. It includes multiple thermal amenities such as an indoor vitality pool, outdoor hot and mountain-facing
infinity pools, saunas, an aromatic steam room, cold plunges, a suspended meditation room, and a sensory room for relaxation. Adjacent is a 3,800-square-foot Movement Center equipped with fitness machines, climbing and bouldering walls, guided wellness classes, and recovery services.
New Dining Concepts Emphasize Local Ingredients
The property launched four distinct dining venues to enhance its culinary portfolio. Parker’s Table serves seasonal dishes inspired by Canada’s northern landscapes using ingredients sourced from local farmers, fishers, and foragers. Rimrock Social operates as a communal spot offering coffee, food, and cocktails. The Listening Room provides an intimate setting for wine, spirits, and vinyl music. Rimrock Market combines specialty coffee
with provisions in a casual, mountain-themed atmosphere. Alberta-produced honey has been integrated into multiple offerings, including a signature arrival drink and wellness tonics.
Personalized Outdoor Adventures and Meeting Spaces
Guests can access over 50 seasonal guided and personalized outdoor activities through the resort’s Expeditions Centre. Options include guided hikes, forest bathing, alpine yoga, canyon ice walks, Indigenous cultural experiences, excursions to Athabasca Glacier, and northern lights wake-up calls. The resort also offers more than 18,000 square feet of meeting and event space, spread across 11 venues, supporting large and small gatherings.
Design Philosophy and Location Context
California-based Studio Collective led the redesign, focusing on integrating natural materials and landscape-inspired artwork to
connect the property with Banff National Park’s surroundings. The resort is built into a mountainside overlooking the park, a feature preserved and emphasized in the renovation. David Garcelon, Rimrock Banff’s general manager, stated that the resort has historically been defined by its remarkable setting. He added, “This transformation was guided by a simple philosophy: create a resort that feels inseparable from the landscape itself.”
