A rail strike in Spain on July 15, 2026, will cancel 328 train services including high-speed and medium-distance routes. Renfe permits ticket changes and cancellations without fees during the strike.

The Xi’an–Shiyan high-speed railway started service on June 30, 2026, covering 257 km at speeds of 350 km/h. Travel time between Xi’an and Shiyan is now about one hour, down from over six hours.

East Midlands Railway cancelled and reduced services from 7 July 2026 due to heat-related infrastructure issues and rolling stock shortages. Regional and Intercity routes including London St Pancras connections were affected.
