The ownership of the 351-room Hyatt Regency Savannah on Bay Street has transferred to Certares Real Estate Management and Clearview Hotel Capital LLC. The new owners plan guest room and guest-facing improvements in this rapidly growing hospitality market.

On August 4, 2026, about 4,400 WestJet flight attendants went on strike, grounding approximately 600 flights. The disruption affected 250,000 passengers across Canada, including 88 cancellations at Vancouver International Airport.

The US has made its visa bond program permanent, increasing the max bond to $20,000 for applicants from 50 countries. Pakistan and India are excluded from the program.
