Canada experienced over 100 flight cancellations and approximately 660 delays on July 17, 2026, mainly at Toronto Pearson, Vancouver, Montreal–Trudeau, and Calgary International airports. Airlines including Air Canada, WestJet, and Porter Airlines were affected across key domestic routes.

The FAA issued ground stops and delays on July 18, 2026, at JFK, LaGuardia, Newark, and Philadelphia airports due to weather and controller shortages. Over 500 flights were cancelled and 4,000 delayed across the New York metropolitan area.

On July 18, 2026, US airports faced 4,896 flight delays and 126 cancellations caused by FAA staffing shortages and Canadian wildfire smoke. Chicago O’Hare recorded the highest disruptions with 801 delays and 17 cancellations.
